Hunter Mense: Bio

Hello, I’m a former college and professional baseball player who’s spent the last 15+ years helping hitters grow — not just in skill, but in confidence, connection, and love for the game.

After playing at the University of Missouri and five years in professional baseball, I earned a master’s in counseling psychology with an emphasis in sport psychology. That education shaped how I coach: with care, clarity, and a deep belief in the mental side of performance.

I’ve coached hitters at every level — from college ball at Mizzou to the pro ranks as a short-season hitting coach with the Padres, AA hitting coach with the Blue Jays, four years as the Blue Jays' hitting coordinator, and most recently, four years as the assistant MLB hitting coach in Toronto.

I’m also a husband and dad to two young kids (ages 5 and 2), which has brought a new layer of perspective to everything I do. We recently moved from New Jersey back to Kansas City, where I’m continuing my mission: to help athletes, parents, and coaches build real skills, deeper relationships, and a lifelong love for the game.
